Yesterday, our former president was the victim of a second assassination attempt by someone who, in the least, suffered from Anti-Social Personality Disorder. ASPD is a given when an adult commits a crime. With a child, it would be called Conduct Disorder. My thinking right now is – bad luck comes in threes – the Secret Service (and other law enforcement) did a great job yesterday, now they should be even more prepared, no matter where he goes. However, crime in America is worse than it has ever been. A lack of values, a division of people, anti-Semitism not seen since WWII, attacks on freedom of speech (usually conservative), a lack of professionalism in the workplace (all the way to the political debates) and then political lies that go unchecked from a biased debate.

When you are destroying a country, you are destroying its people. And, when this type of erasure occurs, people are going to fight back. Except, the people I see involved in criminal actions are the same as before, it has just escalated. Laws have been created to not protect the community from these crimes and so they continue to get away with it.

There was a young boy (I hesitate to call him a man), who was making Tik Tok videos of himself walking into people’s homes (I believe this was in the UK), just making himself at home. I later saw this, I think the same person, walking up and stealing people’s drinks and drinking them and handing them back. This occurred in France. I don’t belong to Tik Tok, but saw it on X instead. I believe I read later that he was arrested for one day. Were people filing charges? Why does someone feel entitled to take advantage of others?

I have been in a CVS, in a very nice upscale community and watched as a criminal loaded his cart with about 100 “light bulbs,” (I can’t remember what exactly the product was), something the average person would not purchase in this quantity. He promptly walked out the door. He was an older man, seemed proud of himself (smiling), and also seemed to enjoy the attention he was receiving from all the clerks on the phone with the police before he even fled. Mind you, the police were two blocks away and he didn’t appear to have a get away car. I waited to see what would happen, nothing did. The police did not show. Laws to protect the criminal.

I have been in a locker room at OSU Phillip Heit fitness center, in an upscale community again, only to witness a male, under 18, staring back at me in the women’s locker room. DEI, at OSU, thinks this is perfectly okay. He didn’t even attempt to dress like a woman – not that this would have made it okay – but it shows the level of entitlement a person feels that they could do whatever they wanted. Police couldn’t do anything here either – laws to protect the criminal.

We have heard countless stories of women being taken advantage of, by men, in sports. This is a new form of the patriarchy trying to annihilate women. Erasing them as women by declaring “I feel like a woman.” Of course being a woman isn’t a feeling. It is a biological occurrence in the womb and stays that way the rest of your life. It really doesn’t matter if you want to be a horse, a woman, a man, a president, an astronaut or a pirate. You can’t simply say “Poof” and you are suddenly Mr. Ed. Yet, this sudden influx of men with no pride in themselves have taken over bathrooms, locker rooms, sports, and laws are now being enacted to try and protect women. 102 years after we – real women – got the right to vote. A right these men have had since George Washington. Even if they did dress like a woman – which they wouldn’t have dared. It was a different country then.

When you destroy the values of this country through criminal intent, having no respect for others, take away their freedom of speech, have no common sense, people are going to rise up and cause a commotion. And this very downslide in the ethics of our country have caused two people who don’t belong and should not be put in charge of this country, to be up for election. As the pope said “you have to choose the lesser of two evils.” That is how disappointing November elections have become.

In the meantime, even psychotherapists have become “change agents” and apparently universities are teaching them to tell people how to think. This is unethical and completely contradicts how therapists were taught “in my day.” I have read posts on a Facebook Marriage and Family Therapy Group where therapists are posting and talking about telling clients when they are “wrong” about their opinions. It is one thing to talk a guy off the ledge, so to speak or from harming another, but we are not here to tell someone to think like a liberal or a conservative. If you don’t have skills in a certain mental health condition, we can tell people this and refer them to someone who does. I have had someone tell me on the phone their political opinions “I hope you think this way too,” in an intake interview. I said to them “I am not sure what this has to do with the reason you are coming to see me.” I am not a political analyst I am a psychotherapist. However, this is the divide in our country. People are so afraid to see a therapist who isn’t a liberal/conservative and they have every right to be.

You can’t trust modern psychotherapists, teachers, you can’t trust walking into a bathroom, being on a sports team (if you are a woman in the last two), you can’t feel safe in a CVS, grocery store, etc… You can’t trust the leaders attempting to run the country. You can’t even trust your friends, as we saw during the pandemic. People were running helter skelter, retail clerks trying to act like doctors, dictating that you put a mask on. I have seen photos online of some of the ridiculous concoctions people had on during the pandemic. Utter chaos and nonsense. It has become quite the ludicrous society.

Now we have two assassinations in one year, same person. Reading about this guys background, he held himself up – in his own business – with a police stand-off in 2002. His employee noted then that he was known to do some “stupid shit.” Now, his son is saying that he didn’t think his father even owned a gun (obviously the guy lied to his son about 2002), but then added that he hadn’t spoken to his father in some time. People are going to flock to gun laws once again, which is the tried and failed lip service given after every shooting. People who commit crimes, do not go to psychotherapy. Even if they do, they are going based on an ultimatum and their heart isn’t in it. Rarely do they admit that they have a problem or that they need help. It is always someone elses fault, especially in the case of a shooter on a crime scene.

Stores are now expecting their own customers to do the labor of the employees – while an employee supervises these customers, doing their job. They don’t care how many people are in the cashier line anymore, as they used to. I recall advertisements about “Three’s a Crowd.” Not anymore. Kroger has become Turkey Hill – a gas station if you aren’t from Ohio. AI (Artificial Intelligence) is replacing people’s jobs all over America. We have already seen the fallout from “Made in China,” and thriving factory towns turned into meth labs. What is going to happen when no one has a job? Tent city like in California – only – the rest of the country does not have an average temperature of 70 degrees year round (approximately). And, the rest of the country doesn’t have an ocean, where most of the tents can be found. No one cares about the average Joe, so why should he care about others?

We have been working on destroying America for many years now. When I look back at previous debates, it was not unusual to shake a hand, to look at your opponent, to smile at the camera. They were professional. You didn’t care who your neighbor voted for because it was their business. So, you didn’t have as many signs flocking yards, because no one really wanted to air their opinions out loud. People minded their own business, for the most part. They went to jobs every day and then came home and tended to their families. They went to church on Sundays and visited grandparents on the weekends. Dinners were a place of discussing the day. Parties were a time to share your home with your good friends. People did their best to do their best and be good people.

Now people are spending weeks picketing somewhere in the city – don’t they have bills to pay? Jobs to go to? Families to take care of? They stop traffic so that responsible people can’t go to work. Police stand there watching. Mind you, I am not trying to bash the police here but it is amazing to me to see things happening that people would never have gotten away with when I was younger. Laws have changed. People are also begging everywhere you go. Why don’t they have jobs? They don’t look like they are incapable if they can stand there hours on end on a daily basis, they could work an assembly line. At least on the assembly line, they’d have a nice cushioned mat under their feet. Cities are becoming filthier and filthier, litter everywhere and no city planner who’s job it is to clean it up. People are living off of social media rather than gathering in a church. Rather than having parties and inviting people over to have real conversations – in person. No socialization and then there are Therapists, who have become lazy and refuse to do in person therapy now (not me though). People won’t go back to the office, post-pandemic. Isolation.

Our country is being destroyed, it isn’t one president’s fault, it is a lifetime of going downhill. It will continue to go downhill until we utilize some common sense. Until we have someone who is an actual leader – who listens, is honest, and uses a platform to talk about what they ARE going to do. We need to go back to being decent honest citizens. We need to raise our children with respect for themselves. Schools need to focus on education for college, not education for sex. Universities need to teach critical thinking, not how to change someone’s opinion or their sex. When a country is focused on changing everything that we have come to believe and except in a matter of a few years, you can’t expect people to sit still and trust their friends and neighbors. They are going to get pissed, mouth off, and the end result won’t look pretty. I fear the future of this country. I fear for people who live in big communities. It is on a path to getting much more worse than it is now. That is, unless something drastic begins to change, for the betterment of all.
